Remember the Sabbath day and Keep it holy...Exodus 20:8
Six days you shall labor and do all of your work; but the Seventh day is a Sabbath unto the Lord, that is Friday at sunset to Saturday at sunset.
It has been said that, "more than the Jew keeping the Sabbath, the Sabbath has kept the Jews".
The Sabbath is the highlight of the week. Special foods are prepared. Best china and linen are used.
Families gather together for a special time of rest and sharing.
So often people, by mistake, think that keeping the Sabbath is a list of "Don'ts"...don't write, don't iron, don't travel.
When truly, experiencing the Sabbath, You will find, It is a day of refreshing "Do's".
Do spend time with the family, Do relax and read, Do study the portion of the week of the Torah, Do enjoy special foods and atmosphere,
Do enjoy all the Sabbath blessing that God fully intends for you and your loved ones; Do join the community in celebration of the Sabbath!
From the entry of the Sabbath at sundown of Friday afternoon to the ending of the Sabbath one hour after sundown, the atmosphere is permeated with Joy,
Goodwill, Rest, and most importantly, Spiritual Renewal!
The Sabbath is the great day of love -
The shared hours wherein fathers, mothers, and children learn
to walk together, holding hands, uplifting minds, teaching their tongues the
gladness their hearts must know.

Honoring the divine spiritual connection of lighting Friday Night candles, (an ancient Jewish ritual uniquely reserved for women),
a Hebrew blessing is recited at the time of candle lighting, which happens up to 18 minutes before sundown on Friday.
It begins with one light. Feel free to add a candle for each of your children; you may light two candles if you're single.
Once the candles are lit, close your eyes, and extend your hands gently away from you, moving in a circular motion to bring your hands back towards you above the flames,
motion the warmth towards your face. This motion is done three times total.
After the third motion, then, softly place your hands over your eyes, and pronounce the words, the blessing, that women across the world have recited for thousands of years.
This is the moment, after saying the Hebrew blessing, to pray for yourself and your loved ones. It has been stated that at this very moment is when women are most connected to God.
As you uncover your eyes, feel the candle's glow permeating your very being, throughout your home and into your family's lives.
WOW! Myriads of women like you, lighting Friday night candles to celebrate Shabbat, all at the same time ~ radiating all across the World! Welcome to Friday Night Lights!!
